COI (not pronounced koi, but like quoi ) recently got it’s 3rd Michelin star a couple months ago in the new Michelin guide. This is great for SF, as it now has the most 3 Michelin starred restaurants in any US city. Also for us it’s great because it’s on the cheaper end of the price scale with $250 vs Benu or Saison which are far more expensive.

It’s located next to a couple higher end strip clubs, there’s a couple parking lots you can pay approx $15-25 to park in, or on the next street over you should be able to find some street parking. During Monday through Friday, traffic SUCKS. Trying to get across SF takes forever, especially with all the endless construction everywhere.

I arrived about 25 minutes late :(. Ambience in the restaurant was quite nice. There’s a little window in the dining room where you can see the chefs working away in the kitchen. Surprisingly that window was also a little dirty.

Service was attentive as expected, although they did have a few slip ups which I attribute partially to my lateness, but still a little surprising that it occurred. They brought and served the first course before we finished the Amouse Bouce. This also occurred one more time when they brought out the next course before clearing the table.
